Did you know that as a member of HomeWorks Tri-County Electric Cooperative, you are also part-owner of this electric utility?

We’re not only owned by you and your neighbors, we’re also democratically controlled by you. The members in each geographic district elect someone from the district to represent them on the Board of Directors, who set the policy that will guide the Cooperative’s operation.

We encourage you to contact the Cooperative’s staff or your director if you have a concern about your service. We also ask that you actively participate by voting in board elections every three years, and by attending the annual membership meeting in your district each May.>

How Can I Get Involved?

As your Co-op, we are what we are because of you, our members. Learn about how you can become engaged to help make your co-op the best it can be.

Serve on the Board

Board members serve three-year terms. In 2025, districts 1, 5, and 7 will hold director elections. If you live in one of those districts, click here for more information on how to run for election.

Vote in Your Director Election

Don’t want to run for election? You can still make your voice heard by voting in your director election every three years. It’s one of the most important duties of being part of a co-op.

Attend Your District Meeting

Your district meeting, held each year in May, is a great place to become involved with your Co-op.

Review Board Meeting Minutes

If you want to keep up with what your Co-op is doing on a monthly basis, you can read our Board meeting minutes, which are posted to this site after each Board meeting. We also provide highlights from each meeting in your Country Lines magazine each month.

DIRECTOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Board of Directors is the governing body of the Co-op and is responsible for establishing policies, providing strategic direction, hiring and evaluating the general manager, providing for a plan of succession, and overseeing major corporate decisions. The Board has a fiduciary responsibility to represent the members of the Co-op as provided for in state law and our bylaws. To accomplish this, the Board must structure itself so that it has the knowledge and skills to carry out its duties in a manner that is efficient and cost-effective. In 2025, director elections will take place in districts 1, 5, and 7.
