FOR STUDENTS

SUPPORTING OUR FUTURE LEADERS

As a cooperative, we thrive on the opportunity to make a difference in the local communities that we serve. For us at HomeWorks, an important part of that community engagement is supporting our youth through programs designed to help them learn and grow into the leaders of the future. Learn more about these offerings below.

Rural Electric Youth Tour

A Once-In-A-Lifetime Experience

Each year, we provide up to three exceptional 10th-11th-grade students from our service area with the opportunity to participate in National Rural Electric Youth Tour. Youth Tour brings students from across the country together for an all-expenses-paid weeklong “trip of a lifetime” to Washington, D.C., to learn about the history of our nation’s capital, be immersed in the Cooperative Spirit, and learn to become great leaders.

Who Can Apply?

Youth Tour is open to any 10th or 11th-grade student attending any public, private or home school within our service area.

$2,500 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

In the spring of each year, we choose at least 5 qualified students from applicants in our service area to receive a one-time $2,500 scholarship to the college of their choice. To qualify, you must be a high school senior whose parents or guardians are current HomeWorks members.

$1,000 UTILITY TECHNICIAN TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP

Annually, we strive to help one aspiring lineman or other utility technician from within our service area attend an accredited Utility Technician Training School with a $1,000 scholarship. First priority is given to applicants who are qualified full-time residents receiving electric service from the Cooperative, or their dependents. If no applicants meet that description, next priority is given to a qualified full-time resident of the 13 counties in HomeWorks Tri-County Electric Cooperative’s service area, or their dependents.
