Energy Optimization

HomeWorks Tri-County Electric Cooperative offers a variety of programs to help members save energy and reduce costs. Explore the tools and incentives below designed to help you make informed decisions and maximize your energy savings.
Marketplace
The Michigan Electric Cooperative Association has made energy savings simple by creating an Amazon Marketplace for cooperative members to shop for select ENERGY STAR rated appliances and smart devices. To shop the marketplace, visit meca.coop/marketplace. Don’t forget to come back to apply for your rebate!
Residential Rebates
Upgrade your home with ENERGY STAR appliances, heating and cooling systems, and other energy‑saving products. Check out our 2026 Residential Rebate Snapshot to learn more about what qualifies.
Appliance Rebates
Every appliance comes with two price tags, the purchase price and the cost of operating the product. Our Energy Optimization program will help you save on the purchase price. ENERGY STAR appliances and energy-efficient outdoor tools help you save money on operating costs by reducing energy use without sacrificing performance.
Home Heating & Cooling Rebates
Increase the comfort and efficiency of your home and earn cash rebates when you purchase qualified equipment. Technology continues to evolve and improve. Discuss your options with a local contractor to learn what solutions are available for you.
Energy Self-Assessment
What if saving money on your energy bill was as easy as answering a few quick questions? Now it is! Complete an energy self-assessment and to thank you for your time HomeWorks will send you a customized Energy Saving Kit filled with easy-to-install tools to help lower energy use and reduce costs.

Appliance Recycling
We offer appliance recycling seasonally from April – September. Qualifying appliances are as follows:
- Refrigerator or Freezer (secondary unit of 10-30 cubic feet in working condition, limit 2): $25 Rebate
- Room AC or Dehumidifier (eligible for pickup with a qualifying refrigerator or freezer, limit 2): $25 Rebate
Note: Additional details on scheduling appliance pickups will be provided here at a later date.
