Q. What is "local long distance?"
A. This is also known as IntraLATA phone service. You pay a long distance fee for both InterLATA and IntraLATA service. IntraLATA refers to those long distance calls made within your area code(s).

Note: your local phone company may contact you to confirm that your really want to switch your local long distance service (IntraLATA). They do not want to lose this business.
